Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, is the largest home furnishings store in North America, selling furniture, flooring, appliances and electronics. The company was founded in 1937 and is based in Omaha, Nebraska with store locations in Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa.
NFM selected Trissential to plan and execute its JD Edwards (JDE) EnterpriseOne upgrade. They chose Trissential for its cultural fit, flexible and collaborative nature, and ability to provide deep technical and functional business process and program management.
NFM was challenged with upgrading to JDE EnterpriseOne 9.0 from a highly customized version of JDE Xe on a limited budget. The leadership team wanted to utilize its internal team as much as possible, while learning and leveraging capabilities of the new software. They also required the use of Agile project methodology, and wanted to maintain the integration to a custom, in-house enterprise resource planning and reporting system.
The end result of NFM’s EnterpriseOne 9.0 upgrade was a successful project that went live on time and on budget with a high level of business satisfaction and no surprises. The project also laid the groundwork for a supply chain transformation initiative.
